The vehicle rental contract is governed by the conditions contained therein, voiding all the previous ones. E-Z Turisrent, Lda reserves the right to change these general conditions without prior notice. E-Z Turisrent, Lda with the Tax ID Number: 513662405 (referred to as “Lessor”) rents to the CUSTOMER (referred to as “Renter”) under the terms and conditions specified in the Rental Agreement, which the CUSTOMER takes notice of, agrees to, and by signing it, undertakes to observe and respect.
INFORMATION
Terms and conditions of rental are printed on the back of each Contract. Read carefully.
MINIMUM RENTAL PERIOD
The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours), except for approval conditions in particular conditions.
CONDUCTOR
When renting a car, the driver must present a valid driver’s license, identity card or passport, and Taxpayer number.
To rent a car, the minimum age is 21 years old, with 1 year of driving experience, for groups A and J; 25 years old, with 3 years of driving experience for the other groups.
The rental vehicle can be driven by more than one driver (additional driver-extra extra) at an additional cost.
Territorial scope
The rental is valid throughout mainland Portugal. If the customer intends to travel to other countries, he must select the option out of the country (extra), with an additional cost. The rented vehicle cannot circulate outside Portugal without the respective authorization of E-Z Turisrent, Lda (with limitations to the country of destination, upon case-by-case analysis). In the event that the customer decides to leave the country without awarding the extension of the territorial insurance, he will be entirely his responsibility, losing the right to travel assistance, as well as insurance against all risks. Leaving without authorization and payment of the supplement implies an extra cost of €3 for each km traveled during the rental period and will be responsible for all damages that may occur in the rented vehicle.
DELIVERY AND RETURN OF THE VEHICLE
The delivery and return of the vehicle will take place at the agreed Place of Return. If it is delivered to another place not stipulated, and whenever the distance from the place is justified, an extra amount will be charged for this service.
If the customer wishes to deliver his vehicle after 7 pm and before 9 am, an additional cost for after-hours service will be charged. These costs are included in the final price of the website, provided that the respective pick-up and/or return times and locations are selected.
In specific cases, E-Z Turisrent, Lda can deliver to the customer a car similar to the one that was rented or of a higher group.
The vehicle to be rented will be inspected on delivery and collection by an employee of E-Z Turisrent, Lda, and by the customer. Upon return of the car, and after inspection, if any defect is detected in the vehicle (knocks, scratches), in its operation, or the lack of any accessory, which is not due to accidents covered by the insurance, the cost of repair or replacement, will be billed to the customer.
If the customer intends to extend the car rental, he must inform E-Z Turisrent, Lda, at least 24 hours in advance. Said extension will always be subject to approval by E-Z Turisrent, Lda. In case of early return of the vehicle, E-Z Turisrent, Lda does not make any type of refund.
E-Z Turisrent, Lda’s office hours are from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. At Airports, we deliver from Monday to Sunday at any flight time, after validation by the reservation center.
TERMS OF PAYMENT
The estimated cost of renting a car will be paid at the time of booking. Valid credit cards are accepted
: Visa and MasterCard. The credit card holder must be present when picking up the vehicle.
If you wish to pay by another means (bank transfer, debit card, American Express, or others), you must contact the Reservation Center by phone at (+351) 222 459 410 or by email at reservations@turis-rent.com.
COVERAGE & CIVIL LIABILITY
Prices include limited liability insurance (baggage excluded) and fire. Prices may include coverage for damage due to accident, total or partial theft of the vehicle, within the limit of the deductible, to be contracted at the beginning of the reservation/rental of the vehicle.
E-Z Turisrent, Lda is not responsible for theft, robbery, or deterioration verified in the customer’s objects that are inside the vehicle. In case of theft, total or partial theft of the vehicle, the customer undertakes to inform E-Z Turisrent, Lda by telephone, within a maximum period of 24 hours, as well as to inform the Police authorities.
E-Z Turisrent, Lda is not responsible for the following damages to the vehicle:
Damage to tires, punctures, blown tires, rims, windows, rear-view mirrors, tools, vehicle interiors, the underside of the vehicle, damage to the clutch, or damage caused due to a mistake in the fuel being filled. It will always be the driver’s responsibility to pay the amount of these damages.
In order for the driver to be exempt from liability for any isolated damage that may affect the vehicle’s windows (windscreen, rear window, sunroof, and side windows), you can request, as an extra, the Insurance Breakage of Isolated Glass, which will be charged as an additional cost.
E-Z Turisrent, Lda also offers a service of 24h Travel Assistance: in case of breakdown or accident, E-Z Turisrent, Lda guarantees the transport of the vehicle and its occupants to the station E-Z Turisrent, Lda nearest. It also ensures an equal or similar replacement vehicle. This extra Travel Assistance service has an additional cost.
E-Z Turisrent, Lda is not responsible for fines and legal expenses inherent to road infractions that are the driver’s responsibility during the car rental period, being debited/forwarded to the driver or the company/client that awarded car rental, plus €35 per fine/infraction relating to administrative expenses.
FRANCHISES AND DEDUCTIBLE REDUCTIONS
When picking up the vehicle, a deposit (deductible) will be required by credit or debit card (E-Z Turisrent, Lda reserves the right to approve it), the amount of which varies depending on the group of the vehicle booked, to guarantee costs inherent to possible damages caused or suffered in the rented vehicle, passages through automatic toll gates, parking lots, fines or others.
After verification and absence of damages or costs, such as fines or others, inherent to your rental Agreement, the excess deposit will be refunded through the same means (credit or debit card).
When booking the car, there is a standard excess value (included by default in the rental of any vehicle) that varies according to the chosen model.
The customer may, however, opt for the deductible reduction. The amount payable per day varies according to the chosen car model. When making the simulation or booking on the website, the customer will have an indication of the reduction options and the amounts to be paid per day, according to the chosen car model.
COVERAGE & LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL ACCIDENTS
All vehicles have a Personal Accident Insurance for Vehicle Occupants (APOV) that only covers the driver of the vehicle.
ADDITIONAL CHARGES
In the event of an accident, E
-Z Turisrent, Lda reserves the right to charge the customer the costs of repairing damages caused whenever:
- There is a misuse of the rented vehicle by the customer, not meeting the conditions previously agreed;
- The customer does not send to E-Z Turisrent, Lda, within the previously established deadlines, the report of the accident duly filled in (“Friendly Accident Declaration” or “Accident Report”);
- The damage caused to the vehicle results from the fact that the customer did not correctly assess the height of the vehicle.
- The damage caused implies, as a consequence, the immobilization of the vehicle. E-Z Turisrent, Lda reserves the right to demand compensation from the customer, taking into account the number of days needed to repair the vehicle.
After the end of the rental, the customer agrees that E-Z Turisrent, Lda will charge, through the available means of payment (namely credit card or deposit), the charges for the following situations:
- Whenever it is found that the vehicle, upon return, is unsuitable, requiring an extra cleaning service, a supplement will be charged up to a maximum amount of €160.
- In all situations in which charges are incurred due to the immobilization of the vehicle resulting from the customer’s action, namely, loss or theft of documents or vehicle keys; delivery of the vehicle’s documents/keys at a different station than the expected return station, or any other situation of immobilization of the vehicle, the customer must indemnify E-Z Turisrent, Lda up to a maximum amount of €250.
- Always that the vehicle has to be towed as a result of improper action by the customer, he is responsible for the cost of transporting the vehicle.
- Any costs caused due to damage to rims, tires, windows, mirrors, tools, the interior of the vehicle, the underside of the vehicle, damage to the clutch, or damage caused due to the mistake in the fuel that is filled.
- The costs inherent to tolls, ex-scuts, fines, fines, traffic violations, regulations, and other violations of the laws in force during the duration of the Contract concluded with E-Z Turisrent, Lda, are the responsibility of the customer.
LEGISLATION ON TOLL COLLECTION IN SCUT
Following the publication of the Legislation on the collection of tolls in SCUT and having foreseen that the responsibility for its compliance (acquisition of the Electronic Enrollment Device – DEM and payment of tolls when using the roads) lies with the users, we inform you You, as Lessee/Customer of the vehicle(s) E-Z Turisrent, Lda, identified in the rental Contract, which must ensure timely and adequate compliance with the Legislation.
As mentioned in the Legislation in force, failure to comply with it will lead to the opening of administrative proceedings by the competent authorities, whose responsibility will be yours. (Renter/Customer) and which will incur, in addition to the applicable fines, an administrative cost for each administrative offense process.
E-Z Turisrent, Lda reserves the right to charge the customer an administrative cost for each process of administrative offense and/or communication with the respective authorities in the amount of €35 (thirty-five euros), to be debited by E-Z Turisrent, Lda, for the respective management of the process.
E-Z Turisrent, Lda also reserves the right to apply an associated administrative cost for processing tickets.
BREAKDOWN AND ACCIDENTS
All vehicles are delivered in perfect working order, equipped with all accessories, without any apparent defects. In the event of a breakdown or accident, the customer undertakes to inform E-Z Turisrent, Lda by telephone within a maximum period of 24 hours so that the E-Z Turisrent, Lda team can advise the customer and monitor the entire process. If justified and deemed necessary, the customer is recommended to call Travel Assistance and/or the Police authorities.
FUEL POLICY
Fuel is not included in the rental price.
The customer is obliged to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as it was at the time of delivery, with a refueling cost being charged and the difference confirmed. by the parts that are missing at the time of collection of
the car.
The return of the vehicle with the fuel level above that found at the time of delivery is the customer’s option and responsibility, releasing E-Z Turisrent, Lda from any refund.
SUPPLEMENTARY EXTRAS
All vehicles may be equipped with some optional extras at an additional cost. All costs related to the choice of complementary extras will be included in the final price, as long as they are selected when making the reservation.
PROMOTIONS
Promotional campaigns are valid only on the indicated dates. In case of booking a vehicle on an earlier date, but with effect for the campaign date, the values to apply are those disclosed on the booking date.
ONLINE RESERVATION ORDER CONFIRMATION
When completing the process of an online reservation request, the customer will immediately receive an email confirming the receipt of the same. All reservations will be confirmed within a maximum period of 72 hours, with confirmation of reservations made by email or telephone. If there is no availability to rent the requested car, E-Z Turisrent, Lda may suggest changes to the reservation request to the customer. The reservation is only confirmed after payment has been made.
CANCELLATION / CHANGES TO BOOKINGS
Once the car has been booked, the following cancellation and change charges will apply:
- Changes to reservations after the initial booking will be charged a cost of €25;
- Reservation cancellations within 30 days of the start of the car rental will be charged €50;
- Reservation cancellations from 29 to 15 days from the start of the car rental, 50% of the total reservation amount will be charged;
- Reservation cancellations from 14 to 1 days from the beginning of the car rental vehicle and no-show, 100% of the total amount of the reservation will be charged;
- After the start of the Rental Agreement, if the Client decides to terminate the Agreement in advance, the amount corresponding to the days in which enjoyed the vehicle (taxes included) will be fully withheld as compensation.
- In the same way, if E-Z Turisrent, Lda decides to end the rental before the date indicated in the Contract, the Client will be entitled to receive from E-Z Turisrent, Lda double the amounts paid corresponding to the days in who did not enjoy the vehicle (taxes included), as compensation.
